All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings on this Tuesday afternoon! Prayerfully each of you had a nice Labor Day Holiday!
It saddens me to inform you that Mrs. Carol Knopf passed away this morning following a brief illness. I got a phone call from her daughter yesterday telling me that she was hospitalized. I made arrangements for Pastor Roberts from Faith in Sebring to go and visit her. He was able to offer her Holy Communion and pray with her for a time. We extend our deepest condolences to her remaining daughters. I am waiting to hear from them if they are planning on doing anything here locally in terms of a service.
Today we had our first Heartland Circuit Meeting of the year under the leadership of Rev. Scott McLean. I am relieved that I have passed the mantle of Circuit Visitor on following 12 years of service to the Heartland Circuit. If you need the services of the Circuit Visitor, Rev. Scott McLean is now serving the circuit in this office.
We talked about ways that perhaps we can better partner together to reach out to our community.
One way is our Circuit Reformation Rally. This year I suggested new creative aspect to our service. You will have to wait to hear what we have planned once the advertsing posters are completed. You will want to be part of the service on October 30th, 2022 at 3:00PM. Further details will be announced as they become available.
Please remember that this coming Sunday is Dragon Den Sunday. Please bring the food items to assist us help the Middle School Students. There will also be a basket for cash donations.
My sermon for Sunday is attached.
Well that is all I have for this afternoon. Have a great evening and a great day tomorrow.
