All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings on this Friday! Tomorrow is Veterans Day a day that we give thanks to all the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces throughout the years. We pray that God will continue to shed His Grace on all who have served our great country!
Do you live in an area that has a club house or a public bulletin board? It would be great if you could get a flyer from Susan advertising the “New Floridian’s Christmas Concert” on December 10th, 2023 at 3:00PM here at Trinity. See Susan on Sunday for a flyer to be displayed in your neighborhood.
This weekend is our Green Dragon Den food collection. We encourage you to bring snack and microwavable foods that can be distributed to the students of Lake Placid Middle School who are less fortunate and need some support for the weekend.
Sunday is also the final day to bring in your Shoe Boxes filled and ready to send off for Samaritan’s Purse distribution throughout the world.
The Photo and Address Directory is completed and were started to be distibuted last Sunday. We are asking that you only take one per household. This way there will be enough for everyone to have a copy. We have done it in a loose leaf binder format so that changes can be easily made in the future.
This week we will also be welcoming to our Worship Leadership Team Rev. Shane McCoy. Rev. McCoy is an LCMS Pastor who have taken a medical leave and is visiting family in the area. He has agreed to help us here at Trinity with worship services and making some home visits. He may be relocating here in the Lake Placid area in the future. So please make sure you say hello to him as he begins helping us here at Trinity.
Unfortunately the massage appointments that we made had to be cancelled do to a death in the mausues’(?) family. We will work to reschedule this for those who desire a massage.
Next Saturday morning, November 18th, 2023 beginning at 9:00AM our Church Council and Members of the Board of Elders will be meeting with our Circuit Visitor Rev. Scott McLean for a Tri-Annual visit. Those Elder’s who can attend next week are asked to see Pastor after church on Sunday to get a questionaire that everyone needs to fill out before coming to the meeting.
As most of you know Pastor Olckers has had some pretty severe health issues with his eyes including surgeries and follow ups with the doctors. He has limited insurance and the bills keep mounting. There will be a basket in the rear of the church the next two weeks for anyone who would like to be generous this Thanskgiving season and give some financial support to Pastor. Make checks payable to Trinity Lutheran Church with a note on the memo line “Olckers”. Or give cash and put it in a white envelope with you name on it so you can get contribution credit for you gift. Please be generous!
See you Sunday for Bible Class at 8;30AM and Worship at 10:00AM!
