Good Afternoon One and All!
This Sunday’s Service is uniquely different from any other service you may have attend unless you were with us back in 1994, when we did a similar service. (30 years ago if you are trying to do the math.) The entire congregation will be imersed into the Liturgical Church Year and all the different seasons and some special holidays we observe here in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. My Sermon, or my narration, is interspersed through the service will explain the different seasons of the church year as our Altar Guild changes the altar paraments with the colors that represent each season or special day. We will also be singing seasonal or special day hymns, some of which have been suggested by you the members. So this service promises to be a one of a kind, informational and inspirational service for all who attend.
I have not sent out my sermon for this week because if read separate from the context of the whole service, it does not have the same impact. For your reference I have once again attached a copy of the 2023-2024 Series B Liturgical Calendar and assigned readings for each week of the year. I do encourage ALL of you to come and join us for worship, and maybe bring a friend with you this Sunday.
Yesterday I was in Okeechobee for our monthly circuit meeting. First time were have been there in several years. It was a good meeting. While I was there Rev. Anthony Arias told us that this Saturday, Peace Valley Lutheran Church, Wachula, Florida is hosting their annual Spaghetti Dinner. It is a drive through process and each meal is $10.00. Susan and I have gone in recent years and the meal is well worth the price! Who knows maybe I will see you there!

Speaking of food, the Bratwurst sale at the Lake Placid Country Fair was not great, because Sunday was truly a bust. Many vendors packed up Saturday night because of the forecasted weather for Sunday. And the morning was a little rough but it got nicer in the afternoon, but too late to really save the day. So that means that some of our profit is sitting here in the refrigerator. There will be Bratwurst for sale after church this Sunday. . .
6 Bratwurst for $14.00
12 Bratwurst for $27.00
This Sunday, Monday and Tuesday the National Lutheran Accreditation Team will be here to observe, interview and review the Trinity Tots Program. Once again we are seeking National Accreditation with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. The team will be meeting in the Trinity Life Center for their consultations. The entire Trinity Tots School Board has been involved preparing different aspects of the documents needed to be reviewed. This reaccreditation is done once every 5 years. It is a tremendous amount of work, but it is also a distinguishing accomplishment that is recognized nationwide.
Please remember that Ash Wednesday is one week from today, February 14th, 2024. Our services will be held at 4:00PM each Wednesday afternoon with at Soup and Sandwich meal immediately following the service in the Trinity Life Center. Soup and Sandwiches will be PROVIDED. All you need to do is come and worship and stay for supper! It can’t get easier than that!
Well that is all for now! Have a great week and make it great for somone else as well!
