All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings in the Name of our Risen and soon to be Ascended Lord Jesus Christ! This Thursday is Ascention Day!
I thank God that I have had the privilege of ministering to all of you for the past 36 years. For you reference I have never received another call to leave Lake Placid, and I have not ask to have my name placed on a “call list” anywhere. Susan and I have lived longer in Florida than we did in New Jersey or New York, yet we still refer to the towns we grew up in as “home”. Lake Placid has been and is our home for the past 36 years. And when you really think about it, so it is with our Spiritual lives. I believe that the sojourn here on earth which we are on is temporary. If you believe, as I believe God created us in our mother’s wombs and one day we will leave this earthly vale, and enter into Glory where we will be “home” with God the Father, God His Son, Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. This is the hope that burns deep within my heart, this is the hope that drives me each day to minister to all of you, this is the hope that burns deep within me that drives me to minister to the community in which we live, and this is the hope that I pray burns inside each of you as well. Do not let the world’s issues or predominant thoughts push your joy out of the way. Please remain strong in the Lord and strong in you personal devotional life as I mentioned in yesterdays message. Your spirituality is not dependant on me or this church, but your own devotional life and study. This is what keeps us close and grafted to the vine, Jesus Christ, as we mentioned a week ago. Otherwise apart from the vine, away from our friend Jesus, we shrivel and die. Our faith fades and that hope that drives us forward each day to do with is right in the sight of God fades and gets further and further away from us with each sunset. But our God is a gracious God and willingly welcomes us back who may have faded away. God is Faithful all the time, even when we may not be. Heaven is our home!
This coming Sunday is Mother’s Day! There will be a special item for all Mother’s attending Sunday.
Well I really do not have anything else for you today.
My sermon for Sunday is attached.
Have a great week and make it great for someone else as well. Show a little kindness.
