All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greeting in the Name of Jesus on this Memorial Day! I remember that Memorial Day marked the beginning of summer activities along the Jersey Shore. School would soon be coming to an end for the year. Our summer jobs would begin as the boardwalk attractions would all come back to life following the long winter months. The “bennies” from up north would descend upon our small community to rent their bungalows and houses. Beaches would once again be filled with people who never put enough sun screen on and by noon looked like lobsters, but they always went back for more. Life along the Jersey shore was always exciting and I would not have traded where I grew up for anywhere else. I am sure all of you have precious memories of Memorial
Day and what it meant for you and yours growing up. Have a Blessed Memorial Day!
Well I can tell you that the church is abuzz with people layout the new windows ready to be installed. I was there around 9:30 AM and the crew was busy figuring out which window went where. I plan on returning later today to see the remarkable progress. There are also three men in the kitchen painting their little hearts out.
For the summer Sundays we are going to support Manna Ministries. For the Sunday’s of June we are asking you to bring Peanut Butter and Jelly. This is a staple mainstay for many families. I am sure Manna Ministries would be thankful for whatever we collect, but let’s all try to bring at least one jar of Peanut Butter and one jar of Jelly! That sounds easy doesn’t it?
Yesterday we dedicated our latest acquisition of a 6 passenger golf cart. We dedicated in memory of loved ones who have passed on to the heavenly splendor. It is a 2023 model with another year on the warranty. We are using it each Sunday morning to help people get to and from their vehicles and will be used to aide people in going down to the Trinity Life Center when we have activities. Thank you to all of you who have donated undesignated memorials for loved ones. We hope to get more in the near future.
Our Summer School program begins in earnest on Wednesday. Unfortunately they are starting with the Windows in the Sanctuary so it may be a last minute dash to get everything set back up Tuesday night for Wednesday morning!
Well my sermon for Sunday is attached for you review and preparation for worship.
Please remember that the church office is still closed on Tuesday. We will be back for sure in the offic3e Wednesday morning!
Have a Blessed remainder of your week and please make it great for someone else as well.
