All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings on this 3rd day of February! Where did January go? It seemed like we just gathered for Christmas and here we are looking at Valentines Day in 5 days, Happy Valentines Day!
THE HOLY LAND CHRISTIANS ARE GOING TO BE OUR GUESTS
HEAR THEIR STORY AND SEE THEIR BEAUTIFUL OLIVEWOOD CRAFTS
On Feb 9, 2025 and during the service, we will be hearing about the Christians of the Holy Land, and after the service we will be hosting at the church a nice display of handmade olive wood religious articles from Bethlehem available for purchase. These carvings include olivewood Nativity sets, crosses, Christmas ornaments, candle holders, angels and many other religious crafts that could make a nice wedding, baptism, confirmation, Easter and Christmas gifts. The carvings are handmade by Christian families from Bethlehem who rely on it for their daily bread. (Bring you wallets and check books.)
The Ladies Guild will be having their annual garage sale Friday and Saturday 8am-12noon. Drop off times are Tuesday 9am-12noon; Wednesday 1pm-4pm and Thursday 9am-12noon.
All activity will be at the garage.
Elder Mike Bardon has ended his outstanding run of 25 weeks of Bible Discussion Class facilitator. We thank his for his commitment to the study of God’s Word and leading our discussions. I learned from him that people like “one and done” discussions for each Sunday. I am not nearly as creative as Mike in developing such studies. So, I have discovered a “free” Bible study course that takes us through major events of scripture with a work sheet for answers. Since this is a large study and it is in a PDF format I cannot send the individual studies each week, so I will have them ready for Sunday and the following Sunday. The opening question for Sunday will be “what activity did you like to do when you were a child/teenager?” If you want the study before this coming Sunday, I will have them in my office starting today
The Bratwurst Sales were very good this weekend. The team did an outstanding job and thank you to everyone who help and supported this effort.
Despite the brisk sales we still have some left over. These will be available to purchase in bags of 6 on Sunday. Susan is still figuring out the price, so it will be announced on Sunday.
I have attached my sermon for Sunday.
Have a great week and make it great for someone else as well!
